Hi, I'm Jacqueline M.

Was diagnosed in January of last year, had lumpectomy followed by 33 treatments of radiation. Was stage 2 with no lymph nodes affected. No chemo as it usually has no affect for this type of cancer.

Hi, I'm Lisa Marie

Hello. I have Squamous cell carcinoma. In my
Lymph node in neck. Could not find source.
I had 35 radiation treatments.
It’s been 2 weeks from last treatment. I still feel the same
Way, with fatigue, no taste, dizzy, phlegm, all the same symptoms.
I wish I could taste food!!!
I make myself eat, so I don’t get sick or feeding tube.
Is anyone else in the same situation?

Sounds like the same thing I am being treated for. 8 treatments of 33 to go. I started noticing changes in my tast and smell last week. Not too much fatigue, so far. I just read the article under Education about Managing Taste and Smell issues. There were several suggestions on Food prep, oral care etc. You might want to check it out.

I completed 33 radiation treatments plus chemo at the end of 2016. Fatigue issues didn’t last long for me perhaps because I forced myself to consume as many calories as possible – plenty of smoothies and Ensure Plus to supplement the soft solid foods I was able to swallow. Dry mouth is still a reality for me, but has improved over time. My sense of taste was also significantly impacted, but that has improved as well. I can’t say that my taste returned completely, but I enjoy eating again.
Hang in there. It should get better. Good luck.

Hi, I'm Billc.
My last treatment Jan 18th 2018 , I still have very little taste and it’s so hard for me to eat because of the dry mouth . Last night I had a hamburger for supper took over an hour to eat it . Lots of water just to get it down . But everyone is different I guess and wish you the best of luck . Billc.
